2018 Blendos Big Blend Association (BBA) Pre Draft

This year we have 27 new draftees ready to join the league. We currently are dealing with two teams folding, so we will have 10 teams draft and if there is a surplus of free agents remaining, we will look to create expansion teams.

  1. Tyler Bruce Blendos debut - Wildcard

Tyler will begin his debut this fall for the Draft League. The young star from Delhi always brings a spark when he steps on the court. Tyler’s high motor allows him to be active on defense and run in transition the whole game. Tyler is able to mix in moves to get his shot off to accommodate for his size. He is able to knock down from long range and control the pace of games. One thing that is underestimated about Tyler is his basketball IQ.

2. Evan Lane

Defensive Anchor , Pick & Roller , Corner Specialist , Pick & Popper , Tireless Scorer , Break Starter ,Bruiser Brick wall, Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper , Rim Protector , Alpha Dog , Clutch performer , Spark Plug , Enforcer, Championship dna, On court coach, Reserved , High Work ethic, All Time Great, Pat My Back , Unpredictable , Accountable, Crybaby, Lone Wolf

Winter ‘17 18.6 ppg 14.9 rpg 1.4 apg

Spring ‘18 19.5 ppg 16.0 rpg 3.5 apg

Summer B ‘18 29.8 ppg 3.2 apg 19.0 rpg

Evan is an overall outstanding player. He plays hard every game and is a vocal leader. His big frame allows him to score and rebound at will. He is also able to distribute the ball to open teammates. Evan mostly will play back to the basket, but he is very comfortable with facing up as well as dribbling out to three point range and knocking one down.

3. Darryl Valentine

Put-back King, Pick & Roller , Pick & Popper , Bruiser , Brick wall , Hustle Rebounder, Enforcer , Championship dna, Unpredictable , Role Player

Winter ‘17 10.6 ppg 4.9 rpg 0.1 apg

Spring ‘18 6.0 ppg 6.2 rpg 0.7 apg

Darryl is a team-first player who can impact the game on both ends. He is a gritty, hard-nosed rebounder who attacks both the offensive and defensive end. He is able to contest and alter shots around the rim and is a willing role player, as he has shown in past seasons. Darryl has good height, and is a strong body that is clearly ready to be a part of a championship contender.

4. Aaron Laing

Pick & Roller ,Corner Specialist , Pick & Popper , Pick & Roll Maestro , Hustle Rebounder , Rim Protector , Chase Down Artist , Clutch performer ,Spark Plug , Championship dna, Microwave , Friendly , All Time Great, Low Ego, Pat My Back , Role Player

Spring ‘18 15.5 ppg 6.7 rpg 3.7 apg

Summer A ‘18 10.6 ppg 8.2 rpg 1.7 apg

Summer B ‘18 15.2 ppg 9.0 rpg 4.5 apg

Aaron Laing is championship proven, and it is as simple as that. While Laing is 0 for 1 in Summer B League championship appearances, he is an astounding 4 for 4 in Summer A League championship appearances. Laing stands extremely tall, and is a very good rebounder, as well as being a great passing forward. His money is truly made on the defensive end. Laing can both block shots by getting his hands out in front of shot attempts, but he is also known for altering shots by using length and verticality. Aaron is what you would call a “glue guy”; while he is likely capable of being one of your leading scorers and shot takers, he is also more than comfortable with taking less shots, scoring less points, and contributing to all other facets of the game, most noticeably defense, rebounding, and communication. Laing could be the key ingredient to the 2018 BBA Championship team.

5. Jared Beach

Acrobat, Difficult shots , Tireless Scorer , Break Starter , Pick & Roll Maestro , One man Fast Break , Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper , Pick Pocket , Rim Protector , Chase Down Artist ,Alpha Dog , Clutch performer , Spark Plug , Enforcer , Championship dna, Microwave , High Work ethic, All Time Great, Pat My Back , Unpredictable , Accountable, Lone Wolf

Spring ‘18 10.4 ppg 8.4 rpg 2.8 apg

Summer A ‘18 41.7 ppg 9.0 rpg 1.7 apg

Summer B ‘18 19.2 ppg 9.4 rpg 4.5 apg

Jared is going into his first collegiate season at SUNY Delhi. This past summer he helped anchor a co ed team to a championship, was apart of the 2018 Blendos b league championship team and led the a league in scoring. Jared set the league record for points scored in a game in any season with 69.

6. Jacob Beach

Acrobat, Corner Specialist , Deep range deadeye , Limitless Range , Break Starter , One man Fast Break , Hustle Rebounder, Pick Pocket , Clutch performer , Wildcard Spark Plug , Championship dna, Microwave , Expressive

Spring ‘17 7.6 ppg 3.8 rpg 1.5 apg

Summer B ‘17 18.6 ppg 6.6 rpg 1.6 apg

Summer B ‘18 16.9 ppg 5.5 rpg 1.8 apg

Jacob is also going into his first collegiate season at SUNY Delhi. This past summer he helped anchor a co ed team to a championship, was apart of the 2018 Blendos b league championship team. Jacob stepped up big in the semi final round scoring much needed points at crucial moments vs Pink. Jacob brings great energy and enthusiasm to the court.

7. Joe Ballard

Difficult shots , Tireless Scorer , Break Starter , Brusier, One man Fast Break , Defensive Stopper , Charge Card ,Pick Pocket , Clutch performer , Wildcard , Spark Plug , Enforcer , Championship dna, Reserved , High Work ethic, Pat My Back , Unpredictable , Accountable, Role Player

Summer A ‘17 12.9 ppg 4.6 rpg 3.0 apg

Summer B ‘17 19.1 ppg 7.9 rpg 4.4 apg

Summer A ‘18 7.1 ppg 3.8 rpg 2.9 apg

Summer B ‘18 17.0 ppg 9.0 rpg 3.0 apg (1 game)

Joe Ballard is fresh off another a league championship. Joe is a great defender who will accept the responsibility of guarding the opposing team's best player. Joe is a fierce competitor but also a great sport. While Joe could consistently be a productive scorer, he prefers to defer to others on his team.

8. Travis Moyer

Deep range deadeye , Limitless Range, Ankle Breaker, Pick & Roll Maestro , Clutch performer , Wildcard , Spark Plug , Microwave , High Work ethic, Expressive

Spring A ‘18 14.0 ppg 8.0 rpg 1.0 apg (1 game)

Travis only played one game in this years spring league but he also became player of the week for that appearance. Travis showed up in a big way while substituting for Black hitting a game winning buzzer beater at half court vs Atomic Blue. It will be very interesting to see how he can contribute to a team for a full season as opposed to subbing for one game. Travis is ready to take the league by storm.

9. Dan Villano

Acrobat , Pick & Roll Maestro , One man Fast Break , Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper ,Pick Pocket , Wildcard, Spark Plug , Low Ego, Unpredictable , Accountable, Lone Wolf, Air Balling

Summer A ‘18 9.4 ppg 4.4 rpg 2.2 apg

Summer B ‘18 15.1 ppg 7.4 rpg 3.0 apg

Dan brings unrelentless effort each week. Dan has a passion to get better and prefers to get to the basket but can also shoot from 3 pt range. Dan is a competitor and is looking to embrace whatever role he may have on a team. Most importantly, Dan is focused on doing all the little things that will inevitably make him a better overall basketball player.

10. Scott Richards

Pick & Roller , Drop stepper , Brick wall , Bruiser, Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper , Rim Protector , Chase Down Artist , Enforcer , Reserved , Pat My Back , Unpredictable , Accountable, Role Player

Spring B ‘18 10.8 ppg 11.4 rpg 1.0 apg

Summer B ‘18 7.2 ppg 6.7 rpg 2.1 apg

Scott is a veteran player that can still bang in the paint with the best of them. Scott excels at getting rebounds and blocking shots. Scott is a great team player and has no problem subbing out or coming off of the bench. He will also stick up for his teammates and make sure his fellow teammates are spoken for

11. Neil Darragh

Pick & Roller , Drop stepper , Deep range deadeye , Limitless Range,Difficult shots . Pick & Popper , Bruiser ,Brick wall, Wildcard , Spark Plug , Microwave , Expressive ,Air Balling , Role Player

Spring ‘18

Summer A ‘18 15.2 ppg 5.3 rpg 1.5 apg

Neil is a great team player who can score consistently. You better not leave him open at the three point line and if he hits one, be prepared from him to start a streak. Neil is a veteran player who is a great team player. He will sub out when needed but also will do whatever it takes to help put his team in a better position to win games.

12. Terrell Evans

Put-back King , Pick & Roller , Drop stepper , Pick & Popper , Bruiser Brick wall, Hustle Rebounder, Rim Protector , Clutch performer , Microwave , Low Ego, Unpredictable

Summer B ‘17

Summer B ‘18 21.7 ppg 14.1 rpg 1.4 apg

Terrell has only participated in the B league due to past availability but he could be a solid a league starter. He was a leader in rebounds and a key contributor to Texas Orange this past summer. Terrell has been working on getting back into game shape as he gained a little weight from the previous season. You need to focus on boxing him out otherwise he's going to get the rebound and score on an offensive putback. This big also isn't afraid to bring the ball up the floor and will consistently shoot the three.

13. Jordan Harden

Blendos debut Wildcard

This season will be Jordan’s Blendos debut. I dont have an extended scouting report on him. Jordan is a 6’1 shooting guard who has been eagerly looking forward to participating in the leagues. My pre season guess would be that his game is similar to Lime’s Christopher Rhodes (2017 Defensive Player of the Year).

14. Anthony Cortese

Corner Specialist ,Deep range deadeye , Limitless Range , Tireless Scorer , One man Fast Break ,Pick Pocket , Clutch performer , Spark Plug , Microwave , Reserved , High Work ethic, Expressive , Lone Wolf

Anthony is a great competitor and Im very interested to see how this season goes for him. He took the summer off but joined blendos in the 18 spring b league. From his games on purple he has shown that he can lead a team, make difficult shots, and rise up to the occasion when his team needs a boost.

Spring B ‘18 20 ppg 4.8 rpg 2.2 apg

15. Jimmy Donley

Corner Specialist .Deep range deadeye ,Limitless Range ,Difficult shots , Pick & Popper , Tireless Scorer , Clutch performer , Wildcard , Spark Plug , Microwave , Pat My Back , Expressive , Lone Wolf

S-H-O-O-T-E-R, you better get a hand up. Jimmy takes pride on playing defense and can shoot the ball in high volume. Instant offense, if he is on.

Summer B ‘17

Summer B ‘18 29.5 ppg 5.7 rpg 2.5 apg

16. Jon Annan

Difficult shots , Tireless Scorer , Ankle Breaker, Flashy Passer , Break Starter , Pick & Roll Maestro , Dimer , Bruiser ,

One man Fast Break , Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper , Pick Pocket , Rim Protector , Chase Down Artist , Alpha Dog , Clutch performer , Wildcard , Spark Plug , Enforcer , Championship dna, Microwave , Friendly , Legendary work ethic, Pat My Back , Expressive ,All Time Great, Lone Wolf

Winter ‘17

Spring A ‘18

Summer A ‘18 19.6 ppg 8.6 rpg 7 apg

Summer B ‘18 (3 gms)

This man is explosive! Jon is one of the most dynamic players that Blendos has seen thus far. Jon is both fast and quick, and his motor never seems to end. Jon can take over a game by getting to the rim at will, passing to teammates for open shots, rebounding and on defense. Jon is an instant mismatch for most of the league, yet he plays as hard as the last man on the bench. Jon was First Team All Blendos this summer in the A League. He also has championship experience from the spring league.

17. Joe DeMauro

Put-back King , Pick & Roller , Break Starter Brick wall, Defensive Stopper , Rim Protector , Clutch performer , Enforcer , Championship dna, On court coach, Reserved , All Time Great, Low Ego, Pat My Back , Accountable, Role Player

Summer B 18’ 8.3 ppg 13.3 rpg 2 apg

Joe is a former a league defensive player of the year and the current b league defensive player of the summer b league. Joe is most likely the blendos all time leader in blocks and has several games with over 5 blocks. Its very rare to see someone get a triple double with blocks assists and rebounds. He lead the b league in rebounds this past season and got called up to the maroon a league team after taking a 2 year hiatus. As Joe works to get back in game form, you need to consistently find a way to box him out and be prepared for quick transition plays from full court outlet passes. Joe isnt interested in scoring the ball on offense but can when needed.

18. Dan Baker

Tireless Scorer , Pick & Roll Maestro , One man Fast Break , Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper , Pick Pocket , Alpha Dog , Wildcard , Spark Plug , Reserved , High Work ethic, Pat My Back , Unpredictable , Accountable, Lone Wolf,

Summer B 18’ 13 ppg 6.5 rpg 3 apg

Dan Baker is a former a league defensive player of the year. He can also get to the free throw line at will. I believe he has the record to date on most free throw’s in a game. Dan has had a brief hiatus from playing in the a divisions this past year due to a hectic work schedule but during the b league games this summer he has shown that he can still compete at any time under the whistle. He is working on developing a 3 pt shot but is overall a great guard who will bring the best out of his team defensively.

19. Vincent Spruill

Pick & Roller , Hustle Rebounder, Rim Protector , Wildcard , On court coach, Friendly , Low Ego, Accountable , Role Player

Summer B 18’ 5.9 ppg 6.3 rpg 2.4 apg

Vince had a very frustrating experience this summer with Carolina Blue B. Vince played a one game contract after the Carolina Blue season fell to shambles and had a good game with his new team (better than his season average) Vince is ready to put that behind him and put forth great energy and enthusiasm in joining a new team. He is very dependable and wont force bad shots. He will also come off of the bench but is also invested in playing.

20. Franco Scaffidi-Fonti Jr

Corner Specialist, Difficult shots , Tireless Scorer , Pick & Roll Maestro , Dimer , Alpha Dog , Clutch performer , Wildcard , On court coach, Microwave , High Work ethic, Expressive , Role Player

Summer B 18’ 7.5 ppg 3.5 rpg 1.5 apg

Franco made his blendos debut this past summer with texas orange B. He instantly proved that he was an experienced guard who could contribute to a team. For the games that he was able to make, he made a difference in key moments. Franco is a great scorer but I question his shot selection at times from beyond the arc as he is much more efficient getting to the basket. (Insider: Franco is a much better play than his stat line may suggest)

21. Josh Wikoff

Put-back King ,Pick & Roller , Pick & Popper , Bruiser , Hustle Rebounder, Rim Protector , Wildcard , Championship dna, Low Ego, Unpredictable , Accountable, Role Player

Summer B 18’ 5 ppg 7.9 rpg 1.5 apg

Josh struggled to come out of his shell this past season in the B league. Previously a league leader in rebounds, being on the free agent formed Mel’s at 22 formed as a challenge playing alongside Tim Kamina and Jimmy Donley, as he was not a primary scorer for the team. Josh recorded one double double on the year. If he is not the lone big man on the team he will be very productive on the glass.

22. Matt Vogel

Difficult shots , Tireless Scorer , Flashy Passer , Break Starter , Pick & Roll Maestro , Dimer , Bruiser , One man Fast Break , Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper , Charge Card , Clutch performer , Spark Plug ,Championship dna, On court coach, Microwave , Pat My Back , Expressive , Crybaby, Role Player

Summer B 18’ 13.1 ppg 5.7 rpg 2.3 apg

Vogel is a very crafty player who can get to the basket at will but will also shape into his role on the team. Vogel is a very consistent player, in each league this year he has had some very efficient games, he rarely takes bad shots. Vogel’s energy makes him a great asset to any team.

23. Mike Rotenburg

Difficult shots, Tireless Scorer , Ankle Breaker, Flashy Passer , Dimer , One man Fast Break , Microwave , Low Ego, Pat My Back , Expressive , Role Player

Summer B 18’ 16 ppg 3 rpg 3.6 apg

Mike started his blendos debut as a free agent in the B league this past summer with Kelly Green. Although he played in one of the weaker divisions I can see from refereeing several of his games that he can be a key contributor to a team. He had several double digit scoring contests and helped lead a team with little to no offensive help at times. In Mike’s best game he scored 22 pts

24. Scott Gorton

Corner Specialist , Deep range deadeye ,Tireless Scorer , Clutch performer , Spark Plug , Microwave , Low Ego, Expressive , Accountable, Role Player

Summer B 18’ 24 ppg 5 rpg 2 apg (1 game)

Scott contacted me earlier this year about playing in the basketball leagues. He has only subbed and hasn't played a full season but he made a lasting impression in his one game contract for the Gold B team this summer. He seemingly scored from anywhere and stayed consistent, while taking a great shot selection. Although his team lost he led the team in scoring vs eventual champions Maroon B.

25. Jay Conyers

Corner Specialist , Pick & Popper , Bruiser Brick wall, Wildcard , Spark Plug , Enforcer , Microwave , Low Ego, Pat My Back , Expressive Air Balling , Role Player

Summer B 18’ 5.2 ppg 3 rpg 2.1 apg

Jay has played b league the past two summers alongside captain Patrick Thomas. Jay is usually the first one to his games and which says a lot because he travels from Albany. He is always looking to get his teammates involved but will also be aggressive on offense and thrives off of high intensity from his teammates. He has been dubbed a draymond green caliber player but I believe his shooting can separate from the correlation (I hate seeing draymond shoot)

26. Kamil Alexander

Put-back King, Pick & Roller , Post Spin Technician, Drop stepper , Difficult shots , Bruiser Brick wall, Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper , Rim Protector , Wildcard , Spark Plug , Enforcer , Reserved , Low Ego, Role Player

Summer A 18’ 7.5 ppg 10.7 rpg 3.1 apg

Kamil is a constant contender for defensive player of the year and was listed on a all defensive team this past summer in the a league. He isn't afraid to bang in the paint. Kamil is not a 3 pt shooter by any means but do not let him get a step or two on you because he will instantly get to the basket. In this league we don't have many players who can play offense with their back to the basket. Kamil looks to join a team and instantly contribute.

27. Andrew Tenace

Put-back King, Pick & Roller, Drop stepper ,Corner Specialist .Difficult shots .Pick & Popper , Bruiser Brick wall Hustle Rebounder, Defensive Stopper , Rim Protector , Wildcard , Spark Plug , Enforcer ,Microwave , Friendly , Pat My Back , Expressive , Accountable, Role Player

Summer B 18’ 16.2 ppg 12.6 rpg 2.2 apg

Drew Melo Tenace is back and ready for vengeance. After an unfortunate ending for potential champion - Navy (A) and his b league team (tennessee orange) falling apart. He showed great promise as a role player in a and as a leader in the b league. Drew is invested and loves the game. He is a natural shooter but also isn't afraid to bang in the paint. His positive energy can help drive a team to a victory alone.
