Blendos Summer B 25

Stats next to players’ names are points/rebounds/assists on a per game basis

  1. Boys Club (Sky Blue) 6-1

Makaya Morrison 22.0/11.7/4.3 1.7 stl 1.7 blk

Ty LaBarge 11.0/11.0/7.3 1.3 stl

Christian Lawson 19.2/4.7/2.2 1.3 stl 1.3 blk

Cooper LaBarge 17.8/4.2/1.8 1.5 stl

A young team that’s burst onto the scene, these guys bring the offense right at you and in a hurry. Playing a quick brand of offense, their best players defend well, rebound well, and pass well, and everybody out there can shoot the ball. Whether it’s a barrage of 3’s or layup after layup, this team has been hard to stop.

  1. IRR Supply (Navy) 6-1

Graham Wooden 32.8/9.2/8.7 3.2 stl

Kevin Kurkowski 20.3/9.1/4.4

Devon Chabot 19.7 ppg 10.0 rpg

Zach Gilebarto 11.2/5.4/2.0

George Foti 11.0/4.7/3.3

Dylan Jaklitsch 10.0/3.7/5.7

Jon Codrington 9.8/9.5/3.0 1.2 stl

Off to a very strong start, this team is putting in big scoring performances from all angles. They get out in a hurry and have a “ball meets energy” way of playing that is hard to defend. Graham Wooden leads the way, scoring at least 24 points in every game thus far, and seven of his teammates have contributed 10 points or greater in a game.

  1. Dante’s Pizzeria (Red) 6-2

Jon Annan 28.7/8.3/5.7 4.0 stl

Dan Njoku 24.4/3.4/3.2

Bizzkit Robinson 9.6/9.2/2.4 2.0 blk 1.2 stl

Flat out, this team is tough. Jon Annan and Dan Njoku are two of the most successful and talented players in Blendos, and they’re surrounded by a group with length, athleticism, and intensity. They’ve utilized that formula to a great record, and are going to remain a tough team to beat.

  1. Evan Lane Law (Gold) 4-2

Evan Lane 27.0/26.0/3.3 1.2 blk

Jared Hawkins 17.6/5.0/3.0

Cyrus Megale 11.8 ppg, 43% 3PT

Layton Gillette 9.2/4.7/1.7

Anchored by big man Evan Lane, this young group has been scrappy and played with togetherness throughout the season to a strong 4-2 start. Lane controls the glass on both ends and empowers his teammates to remain aggressive, and his teammates are able to do so knowing their center can clean up a high percentage of their misses.

  1. Sloan’s NY Grill / DL Baker Contracting (Green) 4-2

Cam Hayes 25.2/11.3/7.0/1.8 stl

Ben Helme 22.5/13.0/3.5 1.5 stl (2 gms)

Kyle Butler 14.5/4.5/2.3

Jeremiah Ford 12.8/8.0/3.8

A veteran group, this team combines size with shooting to overwhelm their opponents. They play hard on defense, rebound as a team, and they’re willing passers, with at least four guys averaging 13 points per game, and at least four guys 3.5 assists or greater. If you see this group of 30+ year old hoopers warming up on the other end, it’s best not to underestimate them.

  1. M McCoy Construction (Grey) 4-3

Zyeir Lawrence 30.0/12.6/3.6 1.2 stl

Jazz Burks 21.8/17.4/7.8 1.6 blk

Shea Barber 18.5/6.2/3.7 2.0 stl

Xavier Beers 12.7 ppg 3.1 3’s 38% 3PT

Rob Scianimanico 11.5/9.0/1.5

This team has had to prove itself on multiple occasions. After two single-digit losses early in the season (one on a buzzer beater), this team battled back from 1-2 to a strong 4-3 record. Zyeir Lawrence provides an elite scoring punch, throwing down impressive dunks and hitting an array of shots, such as the game winning 3-pointer he made in Week 3. Jazz Burks is truly everywhere on the court, guarding 1-5 on the defensive end and orchestrating the teams offense while also imposing his athleticism and strength when scoring the ball.

  1. Catskill Region Surveying Services (Forest Green) 3-2

Ivan Richardson 18.0/5.5/1.7 1.3 stl 1.0 blk

Benny Schnabel 15.2/6.5/3.5 1.8 stl

Teddy Kelsh 12.5/5.0/2.2 1.3 stl

Tommy Nagy 11.2 ppg

Colby Fancher 8.7/6.0/5.0 2.3 stl

This young group really gets after it. These guys are athletic all over the court, and they love to play faster and faster and faster. They will speed teams up on the defensive end, pick up full court, play the passing lanes, and just as quickly turn it into two points on the opposite end.

  1. MAMCO (Heliconia) 3-3

Jared Conklin 22.7/11.0/3.5 1.2 stl

Garon Senior 18.0/3.0/0.0 (2 gms)

Alex Woeppel 16.6/8.8/2.0 1.6 stl

Jon Vega 6.2/6.3/2.5 1.5 stl

Naji Lawrence 4.8/8.6/2.4 1.0 stl

This group is hard-nosed and rugged, and they will bring the challenge to whoever is across from them on the court. A veteran group who prioritizes defense and toughness above all else, this team allows just 62 ppg, which appears to be the lowest mark in the league. This team will continue to battle in the trenches, turning defense into offense, as they mold into playoff form where they will be an extremely tough out.

  1. Table Rock Fitness (Blue) 3-3

Ty Southard 16.7/7.7/2.7 1.8 stl

Ezra Ontl  16.6/2.8/1.8

Trevor Huntsman 12.3/8.8/2.8 1.0 blk

Tyler Harris 12.1/6.4/3.0 1.6 stl 1.0 blk

Another team that had a hard time out of the gates, this group has buckled down and found their groove together. This team is mostly a veteran group, but don’t let that fool you; this team runs hard, they shoot 3’s, and they defend with intensity. They play strong and physical defense, and have been able to keep games fairly low scoring. The scouting report is hard to create, much less follow, as it seems a different player is stepping up for this team each week. After pulling off tough wins against Catskill Mountain and MAMCO, this team is poised to show they belong on the court with anyone this league has to offer.

  1. Husted’s Trucking (Maroon) 2-3

Ethan Butts 22.7/13.2/2.2 3.5 blk 1.0 stl

James Henck 21.5/10.5/1.0 1.5 stl

Devon Hartwell 15.7/4.2/5.5

Dylan McVey 13.0/7.2/2.7 2.8 stl

This team is a young talented group. They suffered a 2-point loss week one vs Sloan’s/DL Baker and had to forfeit vs Dante’s Pizzeria, but have put together strong performances in the games they have played. This team has a variety of scorers led by stretch big Ethan Butts, and when they have their full roster available they are formidable opponents looking to turn their season around.

  1. Catskill Mountain Ginseng Co. (Black) 1-4

Aaron Smith 21.0/4.5/6.0 (2 gms)

Jacob Beach 18.0/5.0/2.3 2.0 stl

Arie Brunson 13.2/11.2/1.2 1.2 stl

Bryce Kohout 12.6/7.8/1.6

Travis Moyer 11.4/2.4/2.8 1.2 stl

Seamus DeMauro 10.0/7.5/0.5 2.0 blk

This is not a team I would have expected to find at this point in the rankings. A highly talented group, they have scratched and clawed throughout the season but have yet to find the level of success they, and I think we all would have expected. Inconsistent attendance from the team’s top players has made things challenging, and difficulty finishing games (losses by 3, 4, and 5 this season) have brought them to a disappointing 1-4 record. However, this season is far from over, and it should come as a surprise to no one if this team improves their record, and I expect them to become a thorn in someone’s side when the playoffs roll around.

  1. Searles Garage (Kiwi) 2-4

Ray Williams 19.0/3.5/2.5 2.5 stl (2 gms)

Derek Burns 17.0/6.3/2.0 3.0 stl

Jake Mrozik 17.0/2.0/3.0 (2 gms)

Gavin VanEtten 16.6/5.6/1.4 1.4 stl

Pat Terk 16.2/4.2/6.2 2.2 stl

Bruce Dunckle 12.0/13.0/1.7 1.5 stl

This team had a hard time getting their footing initially, but they have bounced back nicely. They are led by a young trio who play with quite the chip on their shoulder, though their team’s greatest challenge this season has been attendance. If this group can find a consistent 5 on the remaining Sundays, I would expect some improvement in their record.

  1. Giacomelli Landscaping (Jade) 2-4

Stevie Melendez 24.8/10.8/4.8 2.2 stl

Jace Jackson 15.5/4.2/1.8 1.7 stl

Dillon Hill 12.7/6.7/2.0

Deon Taylor 9.2/4.5/2.0

A young and energetic group, this team has had little difficulty putting the ball in the basket. Typically scoring at least 70 points, they are able to capitalize in transition to do much of their damage. While they have struggled a bit in the half court, they have been showing improvements, and shooter Dillon Hill has proved to be an X-factor for this team if he can get hot (team-high 7 3’s vs Sloan’s/DL Baker in week 3). They are undoubtedly led by Stevie Melendez, a high energy, do-it-all type of player, but they will need to continue to add contributions from all angles to remain competitive in the second half of the season.

  1. Pine Peaks Painting (Indigo) 2-4

Hunter Balcom 16.4/6.6/1.0 1.4 stl

Connor Wayman 12.7/4.0/4.3

James Vitale 12.4/5.4/4.0 2.4 stl

Elijah Bullock 9.2/2.0/0.5

The Blue Devils return! After a few year hiatus from Blendos, the Margaretville boys have returned looking older and stronger, as they look to prove their mettle in the league. They have brought depth and played with a great deal of hustle, though they have admittedly struggled offensively as a unit, eclipsing the 70-point mark just once this season. However, much can change in just a week. After a forfeit win against Catskill Surveying, this team will look to capitalize and continue to add tallies to the win column in the second half of the season.

  1. Integrated Chiropractic / Evermore Accounting (White) 2-5

Ryan Lindsay 18.0/5.2/1.5

Brock Weidman 17.7/7.5/3.2 1.3 stl

Brock Davis 16.0/7.5/1.0 (2 gms)

This group has proven to be a resilient one from the very start. Battling back from 4 and 5 point losses to start the season, they have remained aggressive and hard-nosed, playing with a fearless brand of basketball on the offensive end led by Ryan Lindsay and Brock Weidman. They have bounced back, winning 2 games in their last 3. This team will look to ride that wave and find their rhythm through July to make a playoff push.

  1. Five Star Subaru / Benson Agency (Military Green) 0-7

Kaiden Legree 18.7/4.6/2.4 1.7 stl

Spencer Wilms 11.7/3.3/0.3

Malachi Ritter 9.6/4.6/1.0

Kelton Ryan 8.1/5.7/1.5

This is a group that I have to give a lot of props to. It is never easy to be the youngest team in the league, or the smallest team in the league, and this team is both. However, this team comes back every week ready to play, often with additional players to participate. They don’t complain and they don’t make excuses; they simply have fun and they play hard. Many of these players are not yet old enough to drive a car, but they ride with somebody to the gym, and they show up ready to compete every week. This team looks to remain competitive and shock someone before this season ends, finding their way to the win column in the coming weeks.
