Blendos Summer Basketball Leagues 2022 Episode 5


Fourth of July weekend games.


(Don't forget to ask about the Blend-a-rama 3 on 3 basketball tournament July 23 and 24)



Game of the night... Approved Towing/Homestead Auto got a win versus Vegas Gold 82 to 63.


Although the game was a 4-point difference at the half, the Gold team ultimately got the win behind 45 points from Stevie Melendez. He also snagged 15 rebounds and contributed five assists.


Scott Richards also had a double-double for Approved Towing/ Homestead Auto (Gold) with 13 points and 16 rebounds.


Bruce Dunckle subbed for Vegas Gold and led the team with 25 points and rebounds with 17.


Xavier Beers also scored 19 points as a sub.


Texas Orange snaps Red teams four game winning streak beating them 81 to 75.


Texas Orange was led by Luke Van Slyke with 18 points and 11 rebounds but Jonathan Codrington also had a double-double with 12 points 7 assists and 12 rebounds.


The Red team got ahead early but the Orange team was still short players.


Trent Adamson showed up at the start of the second half and instantly contributed with 14 points off the bench.


Dylan Jacob led the red team 29 points.


Tanner Metzko secured ten rebounds for Red.


Zach Harlem led the Red team in assists with 5 and rebounds with 12.


Ciero Waiter came in clutch for Texas Orange during the 2nd half. He finished 5/11 from three point range (45%) along with 6 rebounds.


The Red team got up 50 three point attempts in this game. Unfortunately, only 14 of those 50 shots were made attempts.

I started the game 0/5 from 3. So if we forget that ever happened I really went 6/13 , ok great thanks!




Texas Orange got a second win on the day versus Royal Blue 97 to 70.


This was a good team win for Texas Orange they were lead in scoring by Greg Griffin with 21 points a steal , assist and 11 rebounds.


Trent Adamson finished with 18 points 2 steals, block , assist and seven rebounds.


Ciero Waiter stayed consistent on the night going 5 for 10 from behind the arc.


Luke Van Slyke recorded another double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.


Dan Derice led the Royal Blue team with 32 points.


Sid Doukoure finished with 22 points for Royal Blue.


No other players scored in double figures for Royal Blue.



In the third game in the night, the Black team really didn't stand a chance early after having to play vs Slime 4v5 due to player injury.


Zan Stewart scored 27 points for the Black team while shooting an efficient 5/8 from three. Zan also had 4 steals, 6 assists and 17 rebounds.


Damian Zimmer also had a double-double for Black after he scored 11 points with 10 rebounds.


Zimmer hit three 3's in a row.


Danny Njoku lead slime green with 36 points 7 assists and 10 rebounds.


Matt Miller scored 30 points for slime.


Garrett Hassard had a double-double with 11 points and 22 rebounds.


Aaron Laying also had a double-double for Slime with 15 points and 12 rebounds


The 10:00 p.m. game was a forfeit from Royal Blue so Integrated Chiropractic (Silver) received a 50-0 win.




 

B League week 5



Orange got a 20-point win versus Ash Gray in one of the first games of the day.


Orange was led by Trenton Cole with 19 points seven steals one assist and seven rebounds.


Lynn Reed and Derek Burns also scored in double figures with 14.


The Ash Gray team struggled offensively and only two players ended up outside of single digits.


Walter Gibson led Ash Grey in scoring with 12 points.



In the first game of the day on the other court Benson Agency (Sand) won by 29 vs Royal Blue 87-58.


Sand jumped out to an early lead going up 35-21 at the half.


This was the first of three games for Sand on the day.


Sand was led in scoring by Brennen Lawton & Jack Lambert with 24 points each.


Jack Lambert, Chad Richards and Cam Hayes all recorded double-doubles for Sand.


Sand out rebounded Royal Blue by 25 and had 10 more team assists.



At 11, Benson Agency (Sand) won a tough contest vs One Group (Syracuse Orange) 85-74.


Danny Njoku had half of his team's points with a game high 36.


Cam Hayes led the Sand team in scoring with 30 points along with 5 assists and 10 rebounds.


Brennen Lawton had a monster double-double with 21 points and 18 rebounds.


Chad Richards also had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.


Garrett Hassard was the only player for One Group (Syracuse Orange) to record a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.



Orange beats Gold 54-38.


Orange team was led by 18 points from Derek Burns followed with 15 points from Bruce Dunckle.


Clayton Bard and Kerry Smith scored in double figures for Gold.


Both teams need to work on getting at least 10 team assists.


Sand team struggles in third game of the day.


Forest Green came out hot in this game!


They went up 25 points at the half while shooting extremely efficiently as a team.


Forest Green continued executing throughout the second half to finish the game 106-69.


Forest Green was led by Josh Anderson who scored 26 points with five assists and eight rebounds.


Josh only missed four shots during the game.


Arie Brunson recorded a double-double 23 points & 17 rebounds


Colby Fancher recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists.


Sand was led in scoring by Cam Hayes with 20 points.




One Group was able to bounce back in their second game of the day versus Forest Green.


The Orange team seemed to have control of the game early going up 40 to 30 at the half.


Danny Njoku led the Orange team with 30 points while having two steals, 8 assists and six rebounds


Shea Barber and Stevie Melendez helped contribute offensively with 17 and 18 points scored respectively.



In what was a very entertaining game, Maroon was able to stay undefeated vs Ash Grey.


The Ash Grey team was up 29-24 in the first half but ultimately fell 61 to 54.


Several technical fouls were given out throughout this game.


Luke Schnabel led Maroon in scoring with 16 points and they also received 15 points from Josh Baxter.


Rocco Schnabel recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.



Vegas Gold gets a win versus Gold 76-54.


Vegas Gold jumped ahead early 43-18.


The Gold team struggled to score for the beginning segment of the first half.


Chris Engst-Mansilla found rhythm early to score 25 points.


Jonathan Codrington led the team offensively and defensively contributing 24 points with a steal, two blocks, five assists and 18 rebounds


Adrian Martinez also recorded 18 rebounds for Vegas Gold.


Clayton Bard led the gold team with 15 points.


Clayton had to guard the best player man to man for the entirety of the game, I thought he played phenomenal defense.


Damien Merwin contributed 13 points for Gold.




Although this was a close game in the first half 40-38, the black team pulled away to win 78-64 in the second half.


Jacob Beach led the black team with 40 points and 18 rebounds.


Seth Ashline had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Seth also led the Black team with assists (6).


Zyier Lawrence led the white team with 31 points and 16 rebounds


Mariano Hernandez had a double-double with 13 points in 10 rebounds.


Otsego Bicycles got another win versus the Purple team 91-84.


This game was not close in the first half.


The Gravel team was led by 33 points and 12 rebounds from Jared Conklin.


Jared Beach contributed a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Beach led the game in steals with 5.


Dylan Jaklitsch had a double-double with 16 points and 12 assists.


The Purple team went on several scoring runs throughout the second half.




Otsego Bicycles got another win versus Light Blue (96-58) to go 2-0 on the day.


Scott Woodring showed up for the second game and instantly contributed with 34 points and 18 rebounds.


Dylan Jaklitsch recorded another double double with 10 points and 13 assists.


Jared Conklin record another double double as well with 11 points and 14 rebounds.


Ty Kopp scored 24 points for Gravel.


Damian Zimmer had 33 points for Light Blue.


No other players scored in double figures.



Olsen's Property Maintenance (Carolina Blue) beat Purple by 42, 112-70.


Carolina Blue is led offensively by Peyton Olsen with 28 points.


Luke Van Slyke had 21 points and 23 rebounds.


I like to speak of double-doubles often but a 20/20 game is something extra.


All players on Carolina Blue scored in double figures.


Purple was led by 27 points from George Sheley.


Jeff Frank played in his last summer league game and put forth a solid effort towards his assist leader campaign, dishing out 7 while also scoring 13 points.

In the final game of the day, Five Star Subaru was able to come back in the second half to win a thriller 69-67.


The Carolina Blue team went up 35-27 at the half but slowed down offensively in the second.


Damian Zimmer led the Light Blue team with 27 points, four assists, and seven rebounds.


Dan Baker contributed a great overall game with 19 points, 2 steals, a block, two assists and 8 rebounds.


Peyton Olsen led the way for Carolina blue with 20 points.


Luke Van Slyke had a monster double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds.


Ed Palmatier Jr made a guest experience effortlessly scoring 13 points to go along with 2 steals, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
